The role requires someone who has good knowledge of accounts software or the accounting modules of ERP, DMS, automotive, construction or property software, plus a background in accounts or an AAT qualification, would be very useful. Or you may even be working in accounts and have decent software experience with the right personality and problem-solving skills to help clients with their software problems, and to make the move into software support.

This job is to join a team who support an accounting software solution for the mid-market. Queries can range from basic level to more interesting 2nd line support type queries focused on different aspects of accounting, and SQL. You will manage and log support tickets, meet targets and SLA's for response times and resolution times, keep your customers informed of updates, run webinars or short training sessions where required, and give your clients the best possible support service.

They have won a lot of new clients this year, business is very good indeed, there are lots of software upgrade projects, so it is a busy environment, and the company is growing. The software solution is heavily accounting, and finance focused with a web browser front end, lots of reporting and interesting functionality. So you will be talking to clients and helping them with a variety of software issues, related to all aspects of accounting, tax & finance.

This job needs someone who is either already working as an Application Support Consultant on the accounting modules of ERP, dealer management, construction software, builders' merchants' software, property software or purely accounting software like SunSystems, Sage 200, Exchequer, BrightPearl, Maconomy, Agresso, Dynamics GP, Coda, Xero, etc. Or you understand accounts and have an accounting qualification like AAT, CIMA, ACCA or similar and are a superuser of accounting or ERP software and have trained staff in how to use accounting software, and you would like to move into an application support role and use your accounting knowledge in a very different way.

The support team here are a positive happy bunch of people, some of whom have strong technical skills around SQL Server, and some have good software development skills. So, you will have people around you to collaborate with if you need help with more technical queries.

The company really recognise and reward hard work and effort and the prospects for someone joining the support team are to get involved in consulting, training, and working on projects with the clients, or you can stay on the support side if that is what you prefer, the environment is very flexible. The role is varied so you will be helping to answer clients' problems, as well as changing routines, writing new reports and liaising with the developers to make amendments.
