- Description
A boutique ERP company, who have been doubling in size for the last few years, needs an ERP Project Director / Head of Projects, to organise, manage, coordinate and oversee their Implementation Project Managers, keeping everything on track and giving direction on project management processes, project scope and variations, and project reporting, and ensuring that the business aspects and processes of all ERP projects are adhered to, and that delivery is on time and to schedule and budget.
To excel in this job you need to have experience of managing a small to medium ERP or Application software delivery team, direct project management of several projects workstreams concurrently, and to be a star at building client relationships, managing conflict, and motivating and directing people. Knowledge of manufacturing ERP would be the icing on the cake. The package is a base salary to £80k plus a bonus of up to £20k, and share options, and the role is completely remote anywhere in the UK, with the occasional visit to their London head office.
This is a key position in a software company that is just over a decade old, who are breaking the mould of ERP with their fully modular cloud solution, that allows customers to have a very cost-effective ERP system by only buying the functionalities that they really need for their business. There are currently around 55 staff, 10 of whom are Project Managers, scattered around Europe and the Far East. You will oversee several global concurrent implementation projects at any one time and will have ultimate control and accountability for managing their ERP software implementation project delivery across the UK, Europe, and Asia, reporting to the CEO.
There is every chance the company will double in size again this year, so they are looking for someone who is ambitious, who wants to make a difference, and who wants to get results. Career prospects are excellent, and the job will probably lead to a board level position in the future.
Your focus will be the management of the project implementation team, and key responsibilities will be liaising with the clients and demoing the software, scoping, holding virtual meetings to check on project progress, supporting and mentoring the PM's, man management and scheduling, project scheduling, performance appraisals, and PM and resource allocation.
You are an experienced and credible Senior ERP Project Management professional who has managed a small ERP Implementation Professional Services / Project Management team and is accustomed to following structured project management methods such as Prince 2. You are brilliant at project scoping and planning, developing project methods and controls and looking at risk and workstreams, plus a true leader, a people person, who can be assertive, take control, and lead, organise and manage people, whilst keeping them motivated, on side and happy.
As a person, you are motivated, calm under pressure, analytical, detailed, an expert at prioritising, escalating, and delegating and a stickler for documentation and record & time keeping. You are resilient, a diplomat when handling tricky issues with the team or the client, and you gain respect through your integrity and honesty. You are not afraid to break the mould yourself and challenge the ordinary.
The product is a sophisticated, but easy-to-use solution for Sales, Purchasing, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Distributing, Project Management, HR, Accounting, Ecommerce, and more. It has been sold in more than 10 countries and is challenging the traditional ERP solutions.
Super senior project management role for the right person, who wants to help grow the business and grow with the company personally and take on a lot of future responsibility.
