This role sits within an innovative fast moving ERP software company supplying market leading ERP, CRM, and Logistics solutions. They are growing and need an extra Application Support Consultant who can lead their small team of 6 / 7 people and become the Team Leader. They will pay up to £50k.
Clients are delivery companies with up to £500million turnover. The office is based in the Central Midlands near Birmingham they are hybrid working with 3 days working from home, and 2 days in the office each week, which gives a good opportunity to build a team environment, share knowledge and have a bit of banter.
They are looking for someone who is experienced in application support and has knowledge of accounts, accounting, and financial software, and some SQL. Someone who is happy to be hands on doing ERP support, talking to clients, and understanding their software issues, but could also run the team of 6 / 7 support staff, from a people and man management perspective. Doing the appraisals, interviewing, writing the job specs, prioritising the workload, delegating the support tasks, mentoring & motivating the team, and generally overseeing them.
In terms of SQL this is doing a SQL view to look at what has gone wrong on the client's system. It is looking at an existing SQL script and trying to figure out why it has stopped working. But there are 3 other people in the support team who know SQL, so you will get help. And it isn't that tricky, so you can pick it up.

The job is proper normal hands-on ERP support logging calls, dealing with tickets, and really listening to the clients to understand the issues. SQL queries and SQL scripting skills would be a big advantage.
You will work with existing clients dealing with their support issues as normal, but the busy part is working with new customers who are just going live. However, it is normal for a client to have one of the implementation consultants on site for the go-live week, so that acts as a buffer for you. They are very good at mentoring and coaching, and it is all very happy and easy going here, this is a great environment to learn and grow.
This would suit a bright enthusiastic person who understands accounting and finance software, has solid application support skills, (and actually really enjoys their job) and is looking for a step up with good prospects.
This is a relaxed place to work with good people, and not too much pressure and they will make sure you get the training to do the job well. The company has never lost a client and staff stay with them for a really long time. That speaks a lot for the environment here.
