Description

This manufacturing company is looking for an internal ERP Software Support Consultant or ERP Systems Administrator who has knowledge of the manufacturing or engineering areas and is looking for a career move into a role where you can grow and learn business analysis, report writing and even software development in the future. Starting salary up to £30k plus benefits. They are located just to the north of Oxford near Godstow.

This company designs and manufactures unique specialist products in the field of modern engineering and are at the forefront of their niche market. In less than 10 years they have grown to a business of over 50 staff and they continue to be innovative and are developing their products rapidly. You will report to the IT / Systems Manager and as a team of three (the third person does IT support, infrastructure and networking support), you will work closely together to ensure that the company's ERP solution runs smoothly and grows with the business.

The skills you need right now is a background of supporting ERP and Manufacturing software, or ERP software in a manufacturing environment, and to be comfortable dealing with users at all levels. You will have supported ERP software and have worked in a manufacturing and / or engineering environment.

They are using Microsoft Dynamics NAV as their ERP solution, with a SQL Server back end running on a Windows Server network. You will initially just do ERP systems administration and application support for the MS Dynamics NAV solution, and then as you learn more, you will get involved in setting up more complex things by dealing with the users and discovering their needs. The role is to provide ERP Application Support and ERP Systems Administration and will eventually cover:

  • ERP Systems Administration
  • MS Dynamics NAV ERP Support
  • Business analysis with the users for new requirements
  • Working with the manufacturing and engineering staff for production planning
  • Setting up the Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Setting up shipping templates on the system
  • Report Writing

You will support around 50 users who are IT savvy - many are engineers and software aware, so they will be able to help you with the business requirements, which will make it much easier for you to understand what they want. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and will get exposure to a wide range of technology. As your experience and knowledge of the ERP solution and the environment grows, you will have the chance to learn MS Dynamics NAV software development and business analysis and report writing, so there is real scope to increase your skills and grow your career.

The Systems Manager has overall responsibility for all IT systems as well as further development of the Dynamics NAV ERP solution, and will work alongside you. However, you will be expected to use your own initiative and prioritise tasks accordingly, and will have good communication skills with the ability to talk to users at all levels from factory floor to the board room where required. You will also be someone who can communicate software information to colleagues and solve problems.

This is a great company to work for. They are innovative, their products are exciting and at the forefront of design and manufacturing and they are growing rapidly - which means there will be career prospects in the future as the IT department grows too.

If you have ERP Application Support or Systems Administration and manufacturing knowledge and would like to find out more, please contact Jake King or Carolyn MacLurg at Ambis Resourcing or send us a copy of an up-to-date CV.
