£70-80k package + car allowance

This role is for an ERP Software Pre-Sales Consultant who can scope, run discovery sessions and deliver highly tailored demos in a manufacturing environment. The ERP product you will work with has 15,000 global users and around 450 users in the UK. It is a very profitable division of a large UK based ERP solutions reseller; this division is growing and the career opportunities are excellent.

Base salary to £60k plus car allowance and c.£20k bonus. The role is UK wide, but they have another ERP Pre-Sales Consultant living in the South, so your territory will mainly be covering the North down to the Midlands. Ideally you will live with 90 minutes commute of Manchester, for visits to head office. Your role will be to assist the sales people with winning ERP software deals, and collaborating with all departments such as sales & marketing, implementation, support and development.

This ERP software solution is very strong in the manufacturing sector and covers things like requirements planning, supply chain, shop floor documentation, production, business process engineering, purchasing, inventory, warehousing and bill of materials, as well as sales, distribution and finance. So the most important aspect of your experience is that you are strong on manufacturing, you have dealt with production people, you understand the demands of shop floor data collection and you are familiar with BOM (Bill of Materials). And, of course you need ERP software experience in a pre-sales role.

You need to be able to quickly assimilate the demands of the client, in terms of their manufacturing processes and how the ERP solution can fit, to win the sales people the deal. Once the sale is made, they have a terrific delivery team who will ensure a smooth implementation and client satisfaction. You can expect to do around 50 consultancy days per annum.

They are looking for:

  • Someone with manufacturing gravitas
  • Previous Pre-Sales experience working with ERP solutions
  • The ability to scope a solution (ideally to an architecture / solutions design level)
  • Experienced in delivering high level tailored demos to suit each client
  • You can run discovery session and hone in on the salient points
  • A background in ERP software implementation within manufacturing

You will have worked with ERP software solutions such as Sage, Epicor, IFS, SAP Business One, Dynamics AX, Exact, Infor, Oracle, Syteline, Priority, Syspro, Aptean, Efacs, de Facto, Access, Glovia or similar.

The sales process here tends to be the first meeting with the client will be the Sales Executive to qualify the client, talk about costs and look at time scales. Then you would step in to cover scoping and business analysis, then deliver a bespoke fully tailored demonstration, then a follow up session, until the deal goes to close. Average deal sizes are around £150k.
