- Description
Internal role for an ERP Consultant or IT Manager / Systems Manager with strong ERP software experience, to join a specialist wholesale and distribution company based near Poole. They have been in business for over 30 years and have around 100 employees, with a turnover of £25 million. Their location is between Poole and Bournemouth and is also convenient for people living near Ringwood, Blandford Forum, Christchurch and Weymouth. Starting salary up to £50k.
You will report to the Finance and IT Director and your role will be ERP Systems Manager and Head of Business Systems. They are in the final throes of implementing Sage ERP X3 as their new ERP solution, but have deferred the go-live as until they have recruited a replacement for their current systems manager who is leaving. So your initial role will be to work with their ERP reseller, to get the software implementation project back on track and to the go-live stage, then build up the functionality of the ERP system.
They need someone who has solid experience of implementing an ERP software solution in a wholesale and distribution company, or who has ERP software implementation skills with solid supply chain, inventory management and / or WMS expertise. You will be someone who wants a local internal ERP role, with good long-term prospects. They have ambitious growth plans, so the IT department will grow as they grow, and you will take on more responsibility for building a team in the future.
Once the solution has been implemented, you will be responsible for all day to day aspects of their business systems which will include ERP and SQL databases, integrated with Magento e-commerce, EDI, QlikView BI and WMS, as well as reporting and ongoing internal support and systems maintenance. You will champion the best use of their systems and will talk to stakeholders at all levels to evaluate their needs, and to ensure that the software is developed to meet those needs and is utilised to its full potential.
You will be a good problem solver with the interpersonal skills to engage with users and train some of them up to be departmental superusers of the systems. Alongside managing the business software, you will also ensure the smooth running of all their IT systems, liaising with their suppliers and partners (who manage their infrastructure, networking and telecoms), coordinating disaster recovery plans with them and scheduling backups. You will be the key contact for all their external suppliers, developers and software partners.
You will also work with the management team, suggesting improvements to the business processes and systems, and cover for the IT Director where necessary.
This is a varied and interesting internal role for an ERP software specialist and implementer, where you will have a lot of autonomy and the opportunity to grow an IT department. Please contact Jake King or Carolyn MacLurg at Ambis for further information.
