Description

This role is for a Sage 200 Project Manager to take over a team of 7 people within a small, very successful software consultancy and Sage Partner. This team is currently made up of Sage 200 Consultants, Support Analysts and Software Developers. You will be responsible for people management and the management of all Sage 200 projects, as well as some Sage 200 implementation work and some account management of your clients. As this is a small reseller, the role is very varied, challenging and busy.

The salary range is £50-60k and they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. The right person will grow the team and develop the role into Head of Technical Services or Consulting Director in the future.

They are looking for someone with a strong Sage 200 software implementation background, although you may have recently worked on a different software solution and could be a bit rusty on the product. But you must have an understanding of how Sage 200 projects tend to work, so that you can allocate tasks and maximise the chargeable work.

You will be booking consultants days and need to understand the elements of the Sage 200 implementation lifecycle, so you can accurately forecast the right allocation of consultant days for each project phase.

In the short term, you will also be involved in the selection of a new mid-market ERP solution for the company to sell, as they are looking to supplement their Sage 200 work by branching out into another ERP product which could be MS Dynamics NAV or SAP Business One, or something similar.

The role requires a degree of diplomacy, because you will sometimes have to deliver bad news to clients and you need to have the strength of character to not shy away from these difficult discussions when they arise.

This year, this reseller has been winning a new Sage 200 deal every 6 weeks, so Sage are now backing them with a very good marketing campaign, so you can expect to have a busy team and lots of work.

Staff turnover is very low, people stay here and are loyal and like working here. The majority of clients tend to be local in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire or in London, so there is very little staying away. You could work from home some of the time, but you will need to balance this because you will be out seeing clients and you also need to spend time in the office to keep everyone happy and motivated.

You will also be motivated, organised, a good task master, a competent people manager, and great with clients. You enjoy scheduling & looking after workloads, planning project time lines and organising the diaries, but are still happy to be hands on doing some Sage 200 implementation work yourself, when necessary.

This is a really nice Sage 200 PM role for the right person who fits in with the team, and has the ability and ambition to manage and grow it successfully.

If you have Sage 200 and project management skills, and would like to know more, then please get in touch with Jake King or Carolyn MacLurg at Ambis Resourcing.
