- Description
- ERP Solutions Architect to work for a global software company in the City of London who sell medium and large scale ERP and Finance software solutions. You need to be an experienced solutions designer and architect who understands the bigger picture, the requirements and the design of large scale ERP solutions and who can create a design and get it to work to suit everyone. The company is situated in the City of London, you can work from home some of the time, and there will be a lot of travel to client sites, mainly London and The Home Counties. They will pay £60 - 80k for this role, with a bonus of up to £10k, private health, pension and 5 weeks' holiday. The company is pretty self-sufficient with a high standard of Implementation Consultants and Developers who can do the configuration, system build, testing, installation, report writing, and training. But as their projects are getting much larger and more complex, they have an increasing need for a more Senior Architect and Solution Designer who can deal with the challenges that the projects and clients present. Their Consultants just don't have the depth and breadth of knowledge required and the gap is presenting problems. Specifically, the Solution Architect role involves the initial overview training, running design workshops, analysing and challenging the needs of the client, and the production of coherent well-written design documents. You will need to have experience of ERP and multi-currency, multi-country type projects and you will understand how to put together solutions for projects of over 100 days - some are 200-300 days and their largest project is currently 1,000 days. Presence, gravitas and the skill to command a room and build confidence are vital. You are likely to have worked with ERP or finance / accounting software solutions such as Dynamics AX, Sage ERP X3, SAP, Oracle, Coda, JDE, SunSystems, Infor M3, Epicor, Sage 1000, UNIT4 Agresso, Access Dimensions, IFS, NetSuite, Exact, QAD, Kerridge K8, Baan or similar. Why is this a good job? As a Solution Architect here, your role is to understand the overall system, create a design and then get it to work. You will need to listen to the requirements of different departments with different needs and create something that suits everyone, so you need to be an experienced Solution Designer and you need to be able to work with senior people, negotiating positions and have the experience to push things forward. So this is all about the big picture, solutions, architecture and design of large scale ERP and accounting / finance solutions. To allow you to succeed you need a team to facilitate that and here you will have a superb crew of Project Managers and PMO Consultants, developers, technical people and support staff. This will allow you to be able to get things done and will give you the ability to really focus on the delivery of the total solution. You will learn their 2 ERP products and become a hands on functional consultant as well, but you won't need to do the training, report writing or systems build work; you will focus purely on the higher level tasks.
