Description

This software consulting firm has built a great track record over the past 30 years, by focusing on WMS / Warehouse Management and Supply Chain software solutions. Their WMS Systems integrate with any ERP solution and are built using Progress RDBMS and deployed on Linux. Recent growth in sales wins and projects means they need to hire an additional WMS Support Consultant / Support Analyst for their busy team and they will pay up to £40k for the right candidate.

They are looking for additional Application Support Consultant with WMS software support experience as well as some technical skills to include working knowledge of databases (tables, fields, relationships etc.) and knowledge of a modern object based programming language like C#, VB.Net, Progress or similar. Working knowledge of Linux, Unix or Progress RDBMS would all be useful too. You are familiar with working in a help desk environment and using call logging systems and documenting the progress of support queries. You will be an excellent problem solver and someone who believes in providing a consistent quality support service and customer care to clients.

You will work with large companies who typically have multiple warehouses and often 100,000's of different products; they are dealing with huge quantities of deliveries and the throughput of products through the supply chain is remarkable. So you need to understand the nuts and bolts of warehouse operations (warehouse rules, goods received, task manager, picking, despatch, stock management etc.) in order to provide a high level of software support to the clients.

The head office is located near Solihull, Coventry, Nuneaton and Birmingham. You will be based in the office, so realistically you need to live within 45 minutes' drive of these areas. You will also be expected to cover some on call out-of-hours remote support for some of their WMS clients, which is paid on an on call basis, on top of your salary.

This is a progressive, impressive and vibrant company with significant growth plans and they will give you every opportunity to seriously progress your career. People like the ethos here, the variety of work, the energy and passion and the level of responsibility that they are given.
