Application Support Consultant, Accounting Software

Application Support Consultant or Accounting Software Support Analyst - this job is based near Avonmouth in Bristol and requires someone who has some knowledge of the accounting software modules of ERP, DMS, Automotive, Construction or Property Software and has an accounting qualification like AAT, ACCA or CIMA. Or you might be a superuser of accounts software looking to move into first line software support. Salary from £18-23k, plus benefits.

You would join a small team who support cloud accounting software applications. The clients tend to be very nice people and good to deal with and you will get interesting queries from them, focused on different aspects of the software. Your main responsibilities will be answering and correcting any problems users may have with the accounting package, as well as training new and existing users to use the software to its full potential. Business is very good indeed and there are lots of software upgrade projects, so it is a busy environment and the company is growing.

Their software solution is cloud based with a web browser front end, lots of reporting and fancy functionality. So, you will be talking to clients and helping them with a variety of software issues.

This job needs someone who is one thing or another. Either you are already working as an Application Support Consultant on the accounting modules of ERP, Dealer Management, Construction software, Merchants software, Property software or purely Accounting software like Sage 200, Exchequer, BrightPearl, SunSystems, Dynamics NAV, Coda, Xero, etc.

Or, you understand accounts and have an accounting qualification like AAT, MAAT, ACCA or similar and are a superuser of accounting / ERP software who has trained staff in how to use accounting software, and you would like to move into a software support role and use your accounting knowledge in a different way.

They have around 25 staff, and the support team are a positive, happy bunch of people, some of whom have good technical skills. This means you will need to have decent accounting knowledge as you will be the one helping clients with their queries in this area.

You would mix the application support role with some client training, so working on reports and some smaller projects, but there is lots of opportunity to progress into bigger projects, or you can stay on the support desk if you prefer; the environment is very flexible.

The role is varied so that you will be helping to answer clients' problems, as well as changing routines, writing new reports and liaising with the developers to make amendments.
