Description

This role is very much technical sales, it is about understanding the clients' requirements, and fitting the systems into what that customer wants. It is dealing with the quirky, the oddities, the clients with specialist requirements. It is a combination of new business sales and account management of ERP software and eCommerce software. Base salary to £40k OTE £80k + car allowance, fuel card and 5 weeks holiday. The office is in Coventry. You will probably be at client sites 2-3 days a week, with the occasional day working from home and you will probably be in the office twice a week.

This software company develop, sell and implement their own ERP solution which covers back office functions such as accounting, stock control, warehousing, distribution and order processing and a nifty eCommerce solution for cataloguing, shopping cart, orders, discounts, pick & pack, despatch, marketing and call centres which they sell to multi-channel retailers (as well as publishing companies and sports clubs) and which integrates with their ERP software.

Their clients tend to need some niche functionality. So, selling involves really getting inside and understanding the customer's business and really listening to their needs; it would suit a sales person who enjoys a challenge. The role is fundamentally account management, but with new business sales to their existing clients. The clients are happy and have been well managed by the departing Account Manager, but there is a lot more to be made from them, so there is significant focus on getting new business from them.

They are looking for a focused Sales Executive with good account management experience who has sold eCommerce, multi-channel retail and / or ERP software, and has an understanding of web products and ecommerce aspects like picking & packing, logistics, warehousing, despatch etc. A technical background such as a previous career as an implementation consultant would be useful in order to understand the functionality of the software.

As a company they have done exceptionally well, they are very profitable, and always busy with paid development work so experience of working with and liaising with developers would also be useful. You will also be selling licenses and support contracts.

Sales are typically £40k - £60k; £150k would be a good deal. Realistically, 20 user systems are the normal type of client, with a £40k deal value. You will work alongside another sales person, who is purely new business sales and you will have a nationwide territory.
