- Description
New position for an Aviation MRO (Maintenance, Overhaul and Repairs software) Solutions Consultant or Solutions Architect; you can be home based but will need to spend two days a week in Cambridge at the client's site. There is no other travel involved, the position is a permanent one with an end user client company. You will be a lead member of the aviation team that develops and implements software solutions for the client. Salary to £55k plus private healthcare.
They are looking for a Consultant who has experience of architecting Aviation MRO systems. You need knowledge of maintenance procedures, policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's), particularly for heavy maintenance as well as aircraft maintenance industry experience.
This is a key position in choosing the best solution for the client's requirements and ensuring that it is documented to a high technical level to allow software development to be undertaken.
You will understand business and technical requirements through liaising with all stakeholders, identify gaps between the solution and the needs, design the solution to fit and demonstrate it to the client, create functional design specifications, challenge requests for modifications where costs could be saved and ensure thorough testing is carried out by the testing teams.
Reporting to the Head of Delivery, you will be expected to attend project meetings and keep the PM informed of scope change, schedules and possible budget run overs.
Your background:
- Experienced in the implementation of Aviation MRO maintenance and repairs software systems
- Knowledge of FAR's and aviation maintenance policies and procedures
- The ability to be the Subject Matter Expert in gathering the client's requirements and translating their needs to the software developers.
- Strong business process and analysis skills and gap definition with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Previous experience architecting aviation MRO systems
- Able to develop and understand a complete multi-application MRO solution
- Knowledge of Java, HTML and industry standard source control systems
- The ability to balance the product capability, with client requirements and commercial reality
- Excellent communication skills and team spirit
- Well organised and able to cope under pressure
- Dynamics NAV experience would be a bonus
