Description

Senior Account Manager, with a track record of 10 years + software sales and account management experience with high level clients turning over £1 billion. This is a key role with a global software company who have a 30 year history, 10 international offices, 400 staff and a proven track record in their niche market. Base salary to £70k, OTE £110k plus £5k car allowance, bonus scheme and private healthcare.

This role is to join an existing team of 4 Account Managers, 3 have been with the company for over 10 years. Ideally you live within reasonable commuting distance of Maidenhead (there is work from home flexibility) and they would also consider someone living in the Midlands or the North of England, as the current team are all southern based.

They seldom lose clients and gain around 20 new ones each year. Right now, they are in a period of significant growth, but the role is live due to one of current Account Managers being moved internally. This is an awesome company to work for. Staff turnover is incredibly low as people love working here, they virtually never lose a client, the management style is superb, they look after their staff extremely well, and everyone in sales hits their targets consistently.

Your background:

  • Hopefully 10 years or more with sales & account management of business application software
  • Managed tier 1 and 2 accounts - customers turning over £1 billion +
  • Proven track record of achieving target
  • Sold application software such as ERP, accounting, CRM, property management software, MIS, field service, dealer management, automotive, construction software, pensions software, HR, payroll software, legal software or similar
  • Strong negotiator, attention to detail, presentation skills & relationship skills at a high level
  • Enjoys joining in with strategy initiatives, plans and brain storming ideas
  • Formal sales training would be a bonus
  • An influencer with kudos

They are authors of their own software solution which covers ERP, CRM, finance & accounting, payroll & HR and business intelligence. You will be the main contact for all account management queries and your job will be to work with the clients who have the main ERP solution in place. You will manage and nurture these customers, and then upsell and cross sell them a range of additional modules, software upgrades, support contracts and services including cloud-based solutions based on MS Azure. There is a massive opportunity to upsell their newer mobile solutions and to move customers to the cloud.

Most of these will be existing clients, but some will be customers that are still with the new business team, that haven't been passed over yet, due to lack of account management resource. Your first year target will be £750k and second year around £1 - 1.7 million.

You will be expected to research and understand the potential growth of each client, create trusting relationships with stakeholders and key accounts, negotiate and close contracts, provide reports to the management team, and cross sell and upsell products and services, to hit and exceed your target.

They are looking for someone with significant software account management & sales experience who hopefully has a good 10 years' experience under their belt, is accustomed to dealing with corporate clients turning over £1 billion and can map the individuals within each company and the sales cycle involved in the process.

So they are looking for an experienced Account Manager / Software Sales professional who will bring a proven track record to the table and who has a strong team player attitude.

Everyone in the team hit their target last year. Everyone in the team is on target this year.
