Description

Brand new role for a bright resourceful Front End Developer who has worked with technologies such as JavaScript, UX / UI, Bootstrap, JQuery, C#.Net, Asp.Net, HTML, MVC, CSS, to join a small team within a well-known design, multi-channel retail and distribution company, based in Milton Keynes. Starting salary to £35k depending on your level (junior front end people are welcome to apply, if you have one year + experience.). Your time will be split between 3 days in the office and a day or two working from home if you wish to, or you can be office based full time if you prefer.

Ideally you will have 18 months + experience in commercial JavaScript, Bootstrap, C#.Net, UX / UI, JQuery front end development, but they will look at candidates with 12 months or more in this field, as long as you have been out in industry as a developer and it is not just academic knowledge. Good web design / web development skills are needed and knowledge of the e-commerce sector would be useful, but is by no means essential. You will have a strong sense of ownership and pride in your development work and love designing and building great web sites that are efficient and attractive.

Other skills that will add value would be things like browser troubleshooting and debugging techniques, mark up languages and graphics software. You are articulate, with the ability to talk to stakeholders about their requirements, you love solving problems, and have a passion for building scalable, secure and responsive websites.

This is a small team of 3 within a company of 120+ people. As a front end developer here you will work on the core elements of their websites and eCommerce development. That means you will have the chance to come up with an idea in the morning, develop it during the day and launch it live on the website by the evening, so there is a huge amount of scope for pushing yourself, doing the requirements and the design, coding and debugging, and working under pressure. You will be responsible for coding and implementing visual elements that users see and interact with within a web application, which makes your role crucial for the success of their business.

You need good skills in front end development with JavaScript, UX / UI, C#.Net, Bootstrap, and JQuery and CSS knowledge would be useful, and a real passion for software and technology, and you enjoy all stages of the delivery lifecycle from requirements through development, testing, release & maintenance.

You will be working on the e-commerce aspects; most of this is developed in-house, but there are also plenty of external add-ons. You will be an integral part of this busy, innovative and creative web team, and will work alongside a highly experienced full stack developer, who you can learn from, and who will mentor you, as well as the E-commerce Manager who knows the products and the business inside out.

They get lots of customer data from several hundred thousand customers, and this helps massively in optimising the development of their websites and e-commerce functions. It's a great place to work, with plenty of interaction, ideas, and brain storming and somewhere that you will get great satisfaction from the work that you produce.
