- Description
Home based role for a motivated Sage 200 Consultant with a small, long established Sage reseller, home based position. You will be an experienced Sage 200 Implementation Consultant (hopefully with some certifications) and will have worked with some of the Sicon products. You will cover scoping, installation, configuration, data migration, go live, end user training, and hand holding, as well as upgrades and new modules. Salary to £45k negotiable plus car allowance.
This role is:
- Home based (Basingstoke is just a central marker - not where they are located)
- Some travel to clients throughout the UK but mainly South, West and Central UK areas
- Working on interesting projects remotely from home
- Implementation, configuration, training and post go-live support for Sage 200 financials & commercials and Sicon add on products
- Ideally you live in the South, West or South West of England or the Midlands
This is a client facing role, and normally, as with most implementation positions, there would be a lot of travel to client sites. However many projects are now being done remotely and it looks like the requirement for working onsite and the associated travel has dropped during the current virus crisis. That might be temporary until the UK recovers, or it might stay that way as the future of software implementation changes, so it is impossible to know how things will pan out. Whichever way it goes, you need a dedicated, quiet space at home, to work professionally.
This software consultancy is totally Sage 200 centric and has been selling Sage 200 for 20 years +. They have 65 x Sage 200 on premise and cloud customers and the majority are using Sage 200 commercials & financials, with Sicon, Eureka and Draycir add on products.
Their business is all about client retention, maintaining the relationship and keeping customers for the long term. They often pick up Sage 200 clients who are unhappy with their current reseller and who get in touch with them through personal recommendation.
This is a quality environment, customers get superb support and are projects are well delivered.
As a Sage 200 Consultant you will work on a variety of projects and products … which is good and bad:
- Good because you will have a chance to deal with different businesses and work on the implementation of many different products and modules
- Bad because there will be gaps between products, so you might do a Sicon Project Accounting module and then not go back to it for 6 months.
- Good because there is lots of training and a chance to learn a lot
- Bad because you will forget most of it
- Good because you will have a chance to figure stuff out for yourself
- Bad because you will often be on your own
That's a pretty unique way to describe an implementation role!
In truth, they are a great company, small but perfectly formed, they aim to ensure that clients have a great customer journey and they put employee wellbeing high on their criteria list. The projects you will work on are, more often than not, clients who have moved from another reseller who need an extra module to get Sage 200 working properly, so you will work on modules and add on products:
- Sicon Manufacturing
- Sicon bar coding & warehousing
- Sicon Project Accounting
- Draycir Spindle Document Management
- Web and mobile front end solutions
Key point:
This is a job for someone who likes being busy, likes responsibility and likes figuring stuff out. You will have the backing of a superb support team and the MD is a very likeable, knowledgeable, highly experienced Sage200 expert himself, who is there if you need him. You will be working on a wide variety of solutions and products and should be able to think on your feet and make decisions.
