- Description
Software Sales Executive / BDM for a highly entrepreneurial business in the Midlands, who are market leaders in their niche area of supply chain & specialist ERP software. The environment here suits people who are decisive and happy to take a risk and you will be encouraged to take a chance and find creative ways to win new clients. An ambitious, driven and motivated Solution Sales Executive would fit right in with their energetic, professional teams - they have grown to 250 people+ in the years we have worked with them. £50-70k base salary, double OTE, plus car allowance.
Home and office based with travel to client sites, ideally you will live within a maximum of 2 hours commute to the Warwick area. Your role will be the full new business sales cycle, and will include some lead generation and cold calling. They have a 2-person lead generation team and a marketing department, plus in the head office there is a fully coordinated global marketing team. But you will need to find some of your own clients too, so you should be someone who is happy to prospect, research, pick up the phone where required, and convert these prospects into customers. You are great in front of clients, your presentations are on point, you can talk coherently about their business needs and how the right software can increase their profit margins.
Energetic, hungry, well-educated and professional, you are a new business Sales Executive with a proven track record in selling into and managing B2B relationships, and are focused on business development, consultative software sales and revenue growth. You have a track record of success, with a steady stable work history, you are highly motivated, dedicated to achieving excellence, and you thrive in a busy, challenging, fast paced and creative environment.
Your background will be selling a "business solution" or an "enterprise solution" that is a pure B2B offering within the supply chain, ERP, inventory & stock, multi-channel retail & e-commerce, or life cycle management software areas. Typically you will have experienced:
- Selling the software
- Selling a concept
- Selling licenses (SaaS)
- Selling professional services consultancy
- Selling integration
- Referencing existing clients and reference sites
Their product is all about the risk of stock versus the risk of waste, available warehouse space, in-store shelf space, and stock re-distribution. Their supply chain solution never sits alone; it links with existing ERP solutions or WMS or e-commerce products etc. So you will need a background of talking about how everything will fit together, how the software integration will work and how that can be sorted out. This can be a real stumbling block for clients to get their head round, so you will need to deal with it early on and coherently; hence previous experience of selling "software integration" type deals is vital.
Potential clients vary from wholesalers with one location, to the massive retail & supermarket chains, indeed, any company that has multiple product lines. Merchandisers and buyers get significant value from the software solution; it is a simple ROI. A typically deal is £40k worth of services and £3k per month in licenses. The biggest deals are worth £750k for a global roll out.
After the initial lockdown, this company managed to get most of their projects back on track. May 2020 was the worst month for many years but by June and early July, 3 new deals were signed. So they are back working full on now, and delivering software implementations as before. The forecast is very positive as their supply chain & inventory solution is especially applicable to fast growing companies selling through e-commerce, which is an area that had grown vastly during lockdown.
The future is looking very bright here. They have many interesting international clients, a brilliant team culture and a fully referenced, and glowing customer testimonial list, longer than you could ever wish for.
