The job is centred on dealing with importing and manipulating data from legacy solutions to a state of the art SQL Server based ERP product. Starting salary £30-£38k, depending on your skills. You could be living anywhere south of Sheffield, down to the South or East Coast or the West Country, Coventry is just a marker point - not where their offices are located.

They are financially strong, have around 65 employees, and have worked right through the pandemic. You will get full training in their ERP solution and full training in the associated data tools. Trips to one of their offices will be required from time to time, in the Midlands or the South.
You will have a background of dealing with data and your skillset will include SQL Server, SQL scripting, SQL queries, Access, T-SQL, report writing, and sound database work as well as strong Excel, CSV files and VBA experience. (ERP software experience would be a bonus). You love the challenge of dealing with data and getting the anomalies sorted out. This is a great job for someone who likes solving puzzles.
You will be doing data importing and conversion, data manipulation, and data migration from legacy software to ERP solutions. So this will involve data investigation work, Access report writing, using SQL Server Management Studio for stored views and procedures, and helping the technical & application support teams where required.
For people who like messing around with data, this is a role with lots of autonomy, and a chance to plan your own workload, whether that means working early, sometimes late, sometimes weekends - it is mainly up to you to structure your week yourself. Every day is different and there are lots of challenges.
Your skillset:
- Data conversion, data manipulation, data investigation, data migration
- MS SQL Server essential (2005, 2008 or 2012)
- T-SQL
- VBA
- MS Access (XP, 2003 or 2010) report writing and queries
- SQL Server Management Studio (views and stored procedures)
- Excel, and CSV files
- ERP software experience would be a bonus
You will be the sole Data Analyst working with this ERP solution, but will be part of a small team of data people there, who are involved with another large ERP solution that uses different tools. The job would suit someone who likes to take on responsibility and challenges and figuring things out, and loves data! People who want to be agents of change, and who can deal happily with periods of being very busy, and yet still make minimal mistakes.
