Description

1st and 2nd Line Application Support Consultant / Software Support Analyst - this job is based near Gloucester. There is plenty of flexibility for working from home up to 3 days a week, but you would have to go into the office 2 days a week, so you need to be in reasonable commuting distance.

They are looking for a bright Application Support person who has 1st and 2nd line experience supporting property management or real estate software and has good SQL skills as you will be doing SQL queries and stored procedures and using SSRS. They may also look at someone with strong accounting software support and solid SQL and reporting skills.

This role is to join a team who support property management software applications. The clients tend to be very nice people and good to deal with, rarely rude to you. Most of the companies have their own IT department so you will not be dealing with base level IT problems, but more interesting 2nd line support type queries focused on different aspects of the software, connectivity and the database.

They are still winning new clients, the property market has boomed in the pandemic; business is very good indeed and there are lots of software upgrade projects, so it is a busy environment and the company is growing.

Their software solution is very accounting and finance focused with a pretty web browser front end, lots of BI reporting and fancy functionality. So you will be talking to clients and helping them with a variety of software issues using SQL, not only related to the property management side such as rentals, repairs, billing, maintenance, facilities management etc., but also about the accounting & finance modules, purchase to pay, and document management. So there is a lot to get your teeth into.

So this job needs someone who is good with clients, communicates well, has patience, an enquiring, problem solving mind, is very organised and self-motivated and thinks outside the box.

You will be dealing with 1st and 2nd line support issues covering the whole suite of property management software applications, and need SQL queries and stored procedures expertise, an understanding of SSRS, experience of creating test scripts, re-testing bugs and testing software fixes that are applied to resolve support tickets, the ability to use and setup RDP's or VPN's, an understanding of database schemas, and an understanding of the accounting functions and integration.

The support team of 5 are a positive happy bunch of people, some of whom have strong technical skills around SQL Server and some with decent software development skills. There will be a lot to learn and you will be expected to ask for help where you need it. Training is excellent and the management team are all still very much involved hands-on and have superb technical skills and strong experience of PropTech software, so there are plenty of people to assist you in the learning curve.

The company reward hard work and effort and the prospects for someone joining the support team are to get involved in consulting, development, project management or training, and working on projects with the clients. You would mix the application support role with some client training, so working on reports and some smaller projects, but there is lots of opportunity to progress into bigger projects, or you can stay on the support desk if that is what you prefer, the environment is very flexible.

This is a great company to work for, with a friendly, knowledge sharing team environment where everyone has the same goal - to be the best they can and give the best service to their customers. To find out more contact Jake King or Carolyn MacLurg at Ambis Resourcing.
