Superb opportunity to work for a progressive, privately owned ERP and IT software consultancy as Software Support Manager responsible for leading, mentoring, motivating and developing a busy team of 15+ Support Consultants and promoting customer service excellence. Our client is looking for a special person who has excellent people skills and will continue to build on the great relationships that the current Support Manager (who is moving internally to a different role) has built up with the team and their customer base. Competitive salary up to £45k plus private healthcare, and a host of discounts on products.

This is a high energy, quality driven application support department within a thriving software company that has been in business for over 30 years, employs 250+ people and are trusted advisers in business management software to 1000's of clients.
You will be office based near Bromsgrove but there is some flexibility for days at home. Their ethos is on knowledge sharing and collaboration so being together in their state of the art offices, is part of their culture.
This role is primarily about your people management skills, the development of your staff and your client management skills. The team ranges from juniors with basic support skills, to long term staff who have been with the company for over 15 years. They are a really great bunch of people who care about their customers and care about their jobs and it will be your responsibility to ensure that this continues.
The approach here is about being open, transparent and honest and delivering a personal service to their customer base. As Software Support Manager you will ensure that all telephone and email support requests are progressed efficiently, logged and dealt with professionally within agreed SLA's. You will coach, mentor, manage, enthuse and motivate your support people, acting as a positive role model and ensuring a high level of product knowledge is maintained.
Who are you?
- A great people person with proven team management skills
- You have managed and coached a mid to large size support, help desk or service desk team
- IT and software literate, experience of ERP or any similar application software would be a big benefit
- 1st and 2nd line support background
- A high energy team leader, a motivator and mentor
- A positive role model for others
- Hands-on, adaptable, self-confident, assertive and approachable
- Able to work well under pressure
- Great at identifying and responding to customer needs
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder with your team, the management and your clients
- Pro-active, quality and target driven
- Friendly and good to work with
