Description

A busy software consultancy based between Grantham and Lincoln are looking for a bright junior level 1st Line Support Analyst / Support Consultant, to join their small IT support team. Their perfect person will have 12 months or more working in an IT software support role on a helpdesk at an end user or for a software reseller or vendor. You have gained some application & technical support skills to include Windows, Excel, some MS SQL (simple views and queries etc.).

Knowledge of application software - ideally some knowledge of accounting or accounts software, or the construction industry, would be a bonus, or any other application software.

You have decent all round skills and a keen interest in IT, software and databases, and you are hungry to learn and develop yourself. You are analytical, and someone who keeps going to find a solution to a problem. Salary to £25k, lots of flexibility for home working as well as coming into the office near Lincoln.

You will be responding to inbound calls and emails, logging incidents onto helpdesk systems, and providing an efficient 1st line support service to your clients, providing first contact fixes where possible, logging incidents in the ticketing system, and escalating issues to 2nd / 3rd line support.

The support aspects can range from a quick fix, helping clients with a 5 minute query, to complex issues that require detailed investigation. You will be thinking on your feet, building strong relationships with your clients and interacting with people all day. So you need to be confident, curious, friendly, a very good communicator, patient, and determined, and passionate about technology and providing a brilliant service to your customers.

The company sells a specialist MIS solution that covers project accounting, project costing, payroll, rental, hire, building, service & maintenance and it's built on .Net, SQL Server and web technology.

What they want from you:

  • 12 months+ application or technical support
  • Basic MS SQL for reports and queries
  • Excellent spoken and written communication
  • MS Office including Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting, accounts or construction software, would be a big bonus
  • Willing to go the extra mile to solve client queries
  • A questioning mind, good at delving deep to solve problems
  • Enthusiastic and keen to learn new software and technology

You will be working with a great bunch of people, the software is incredibly functional, and they will give you in-depth training. Contact Jake King or Carolyn MacLurg at Ambis Resourcing for more info.
