- Description
Application Support Consultant / Support Analyst role for someone with excellent problem solving skills, who gets on well with people and has experience of accounting software support. You will be supporting the accounting and property aspects of a large real estate and property management software solution. This includes aspects such as ledger arrears, tenant refunds, landlord statements, bank reconciliations, rent receipts, overseas tax, and supplier invoicing etc.
The application support team has a number of people who are strong on the property aspects of the system at the moment, so they are keen to hire someone with good accounting and finance software support experience and accounting qualifications such as AAT would be useful. The job is based in London with flexibility for home working days.
The business supports web portals for property tenants and full blown property management software, which has a substantial element of accounting & invoicing to it. These solutions are used by property owners, investors and developers, managing agents, block managers, and property occupiers. Some of their clients don't have full time accountants looking after their business, which means you can be dealing with property people who are doing the accounts and are not as knowledgeable, so empathy and understanding is required, plus patient questioning is useful to get to the bottom of their queries.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting to identify issues with the software, taking ownership of your support cases, triaging, ensuring bugs and change requests are managed by the development team, escalating major issues and finding resolution to your clients' problems.
This role can also involve some customer training as part of your support calls. Joining the support team allows you to learn about the products and the client base; and from there you have a chance to move into training and software implementation.
The career prospects are to become a senior Implementation Consultant running your own large projects. The property management software market offers a fantastic long term career as it is a rapidly expanding area with lots of potential, and demand for skills is high.
