- Description
This is a super opportunity for an Application Support Analyst, or 1st Line Support Consultant with ERP, accounting, MIS or similar application software support experience, to join an ambitious, successful, software reseller of around 80 people, and work with cloud ERP technology. The company will invest in plenty of training to get you up to speed with their solutions and with working fairly extensively with SQL to get to the root of support issues. This is a privately owned business who sell a solution that covers ERP, warehouse management, distribution, POD, Ecommerce and CRM and they provide their customers with exceptional service.
The salary is up to £28k depending on what software products you have supported, and how much experience you can bring to them. The job is office based, but there is flexibility for some home working days. Reporting to the Support Manager, you will develop a solid understanding of their ERP and accounting software solution, build strong relationships with your clients, log support requests, triage the cases, investigate issues and bugs using SQL, and test the fixes, and thoroughly document each support case. You will also work with the implementation team to help with go-live hand overs and assist where possible.
They are looking for someone who is professional, bright, enthusiastic, and keen to progress, with excellent communication, attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. You have supported application software such as ERP or accounting solutions, or something similar like dealer management, construction software, MRP, WMS solutions, merchants' software, field service management software etc. Knowledge of accounts principles would be a big bonus, or an accounting qualification such as AAT.
You might be working in an end user role in an IT department, or as a super user with some accounting knowledge, and looking to move into consultancy application support, or you may already be working for a software reseller.
People who are inquisitive, confident on the phone, can ask open questions and have patience, do very well in application support here. If you have lots on initiative, you can think on your feet, your attention to detail is brilliant, and you are passionate about technology and keeping up to date with products and releases, then you should thrive. You need to understand business processes, so you have a general picture of where accounting, stock & inventory, purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, and sales & marketing etc. fit in with the software, and what the needs are of the users are.
This is somewhere you will learn, grow, and develop your software skills in a knowledge sharing environment - and also have fun with a terrific team of people. Everyone is friendly, they lay on lots of company events and charity days and are committed to giving you a great work / life balance. Contact Jake King or Carolyn MacLurg at Ambis.
