- Description
This role is for a functional Implementation Consultant who has worked with manufacturing solutions or has implemented ERP software into manufacturing companies. The job is home based anywhere in the UK, and you will probably be on client site one or two days a week. Base salary to £55k, plus car allowance, laptop, and mobile and private health care.
The company is thriving, profitable, well managed and has a great track record and over 30 years in the business. They are authors of their own highly configurable mid-market ERP solution, which is SQL Server based, and can be cloud or on premise and have a large existing client list and huge recurring revenue from support. Most clients start off with an out of the box solution which is then heavily tailored to suit their particular business.
Their ERP solution is very strong on manufacturing and most of their customers are specialist manufacturing companies, but it also has rock solid finance, sales, CRM, BI and distribution modules. have a team of ERP Consultants and Project Managers working with manufacturing clients, particularly make & engineer to order, food & drink manufacturing, and distribution companies, as well as footwear, fashion & apparel and furniture manufacturers.
You will work on complex requirements; these will include make to order and engineer to order, make to stock, materials planning, configure to order, master production scheduling, assemble to order, product configurator, BOM and cost proposals. So you are happy talking to production people; you have an understanding of the business processes of productions lines, wastage and machine utilisation, production schedules and materials requirements and planning and can translate these needs to ensure a good software fit. You will be joining a team of 15 consultants.
This job exists because one their Implementation Consultants has moved across into new business sales with the company, of all things! As a functional ERP Consultant, you will work through requirements, workshops, specification, configuration, data upload (there is a technical team, but inevitably you will always end up doing some of the data work), client training, go-live and SQL queries and reporting.
A typical software implementation project is 10 to 100 users, and a typical deal is £85k to £175k with 15-80 days of consultancy. Competitor products are solutions such as Priority ERP, Epicor, E-Max, Plex, Acumatica Cloud, WinMan, Katana, SAP Business One, Lakeview, Sage X3, IFS, Aptean Unity ERP, QAD, D365 Business Central / Dynamics NAV, Vero, Sage 200 for manufacturing, MS Dynamics 365 F&O, Infor Cloud, Javelin, Syspro etc. so if you have worked with any of these, you'll have a head start.
They look after their clients very well and build long term relationships and companies tend to stay loyal to them. So, this would suit someone who wants to go the extra mile, who wants to spend the extra time with the client to work through a business process change and to make sure the client gets the right result which will keep them happy for the long term.
Their ERP solution is refreshingly up to date, it sells very well and clients like it for its ease of use. This is a great job; the company are extremely well organised and sell their projects professionally and correctly, so you will have enough time to do a decent job for each client's implementation. They have over 400 ERP clients; they know what they are doing and do it well. They are looking for a likeminded experienced ERP Consultant with knowledge of manufacturing, who can get on with projects and does not need to be micromanaged - but can ask for help when they need it. You will be outgoing, personable, professional, calm, collected, and a solid, safe pair of hands.
