- Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised Project Manager who has worked on implementation projects of application software, or a brilliant Project Coordinator looking for a step up. This is with a very well run mid-range ERP software partner who have a large client base and a significant pipeline of new work.
They have had 20 years of great success; they have around 40 staff, a track record of project management, software implementation and support and the ERP solutions they sell cover supply chain, finance & accounting, manufacturing, distribution, asset management, business intelligence, production, inventory, warehousing, and CRM. There are three separate ERP companies within the group selling different solutions.
It is a remote position anywhere in the UK, from the south of Manchester to the East coast or South coast, (ideally not as far Cornwall) and you will probably go into their office in the Midlands once or twice a month, with occasional visits to client sites.
They would like to see experienced software Project Managers, at the higher end of their salary range, who have run multiple implementation projects and can bring immediate benefit as a PM.
Or they would be equally happy seeing Project Coordinators who have a strong understanding of how software projects work, covering business requirements, training and go-live etc. and have experience working with a PM, organising the schedules and resource, talking to the customer, and liaising with the consultants.
You will start off working on their lower price range ERP solution, on mid-range and smaller projects to get to grips with their methodologies, the clients, and the software. Then you will move to meatier, complex projects working with the larger ERP product; these are up to £1 million.
As a PM you will typically have 10 projects on the go at once, and of course there are peaks and troughs in their number and size, but you will have a lot of control of your own diary. The challenge is to manage the clients, and the ERP Consultants, mitigate risk, track, and document the project stages, allocate resources, run logs, have the tough conversations with the clients, and keep the projects all on budget and to time where possible. The ability to manage people and projects in a way that you can get the best out of them and keep their loyalty year after year, is essential.
They want someone driven, supremely organised, and calm and cool headed who has some experience managing or coordinating software projects and is looking for a career move and a new challenge. The company are very strong in many areas, especially manufacturing, and particularly on complex finance projects, so multi-currency, multi-company, multi-country systems are all quite common features of their projects, as well as distribution, supply chain, logistics and ecommerce.
There is a team of 3 PM's in place, and you will be the fourth one, the job is very do-able, and you can really learn here and build your project management skills.
