- Description
This role is ideal for an Implementation Project Manager or a Project Coordinator with some consultancy and client facing skills. It is to join a thriving ERP group, with 3 separate companies in the UK of around 30-40 people each. This one is based in the Midlands, but the job is remote from anywhere in England, with visits to client sites or to head office a few times a month.
They are looking for someone who has brilliant attention to detail, is well organised, positive, easy to get on with and action-focused with the ability to meet deadlines & budgets, multi-task and survive well under pressure, and who can hold their own. To £55k plus bonus and car allowance.
The initial job will be to project manage ERP implementations of around 30 days to 100 days. You will work with a team of Implementation Consultants who do the delivery, as well as working with the clients and the Senior PM. You would start on some smaller projects and as you get to know the software and the company, you will pick up bigger and bigger ones. The largest projects are 300 to 400 days, so there is plenty of scope to get more and more experience.
They would like to find an experienced (2 years+) Project Manager who has managed projects for a software company / software vendor / reseller delivering application software, either ERP or something very similar to ERP. This could be Construction software, Property Management software, Business Intelligence, Field Service Management, ERP, MRP, CRM, Supply Chain, WMS, Payroll & HR software, or Demand Planning & Inventory.
Whatever the software solution, you need to understand the process of the implementation life cycle and you understand the issues with getting the right Implementation Consultant to the client - on the right day - to do the task.
You will be responsible for coordinating the Consultants & internal resources to ensure that projects are implemented within scope and on time and to budget. You will liaise with & report weekly to your clients on timescales & costs, develop project plans to track progress, manage project scope, creep, and schedules, manage the stakeholders, measure project performance, and manage risk on a regular basis.
Their current team is made up of 10 ERP Implementation Consultants and 3 Project Managers, one of them senior. This is a mid-level PM role, with plenty of scope for advancement.
Travel to client sites will be required occasionally, to do kick off meetings so you should expect 3-5 days travelling each month.
You are someone who likes interacting with SME clients and helping them to understand and overcome challenges by implementing world-class software. You believe that careful project planning and good system preparation, prior to go live, makes all the difference, and you can challenge the clients' ideas where required, and deal with fall outs professionally.
