- Description
This is a busy Accounting Software Support role in the application support team of a massively successful global ERP software company, who specialise in a niche sector, in which they lead the UK market. They pride themselves in providing the highest quality ongoing support and service to their customers and in developing and rewarding their staff.
They are happy to look at someone on a junior level, but you need knowledge of accounting and some IT support skills or technology skills. The company is based in Slough; you can work from home for a few days a week if you wish, with some days in the office, so ideally, you live somewhere within an hour of Slough. You can be office based full time or half and half at home - they are very flexible. Salary to £26k with regular reviews and a great benefits package.
There is lots of flexibility as to your level of experience here. They are very happy to hire a junior Accounts Support Analyst with a year of support and an accounts background, or an accounting qualification. Or an experienced Application Support Consultant who has good knowledge of accounting, and finance software, or has application support with an accounting background or a qualification such as AAT. And they are happy to hire a fresh graduate who has done an accountancy or finance degree, has some technical understanding and an interest in software and would like to combine the two areas.
Your position will sit in their busy 1st and 2nd line support team, who are split into 3 divisions doing ERP support, payroll support and accounting support. You will be the clients' first point of contact, delivering a great support service, building up strong relationships, providing quick response via telephone, email, and web chat, meeting your agreed SLA's, documenting issues, querying data through SQL, looking at the root causes of problems, testing bug fixes and making sure wait times are kept to a minimum. You will get involved in report building, data export, and software upgrades as you progress and learn.
This job suits someone who likes numbers and accounting and enjoys technical challenges and solving problems, who is outgoing, inquisitive, enthusiastic, someone who likes to figure stuff out, is passionate about technology and gets a kick out of helping people with their issues. You are likely to be a stickler for detail, who digs deep to find solutions, and who enjoys talking to, and connecting with customers. You can bring your accounts knowledge, whether that has been gained through a degree, an accounting qualification, or accounts software support experience, and use it to provide a fantastic service to people who are grappling with problems with their accounting software.
Career wise prospects are really good. You could stay in support and progress to 2nd and 3rd line, or move sideways to a more complex division, or move up into software implementation, development, consulting, training, or project management - all these options are open to you in the future. People love working here because of the approachable management, the world class software solution that the company sells and the positive team spirit. Everyone strives to be the best that they can and work together for the growth and development of the business, and for customer satisfaction every time.
