- Description
A leader in integrated business spend management needs a Solutions Sales, New Business Sales, Business Development Manager to come on board, selling direct to clients and working with partners to generate and secure new logos. They're looking for a hunter, with a great track record of consultative sales in the spend management, finance, expenses, ERP, procurement, or invoicing software sectors, or any other software that has its roots in accounting and finance. Base salary to £80k with a double OTE, on a £1 million target, so £150-170k is very achievable. The role is remote, anywhere in the UK.
This is a £50 million turnover company; they are rock solid, and an admired and reliable player in the spend management market. Their solution covers supplier management, payment matching, invoice capture, P2P, AP automation, e-procurement, expenses & payments, finance compliance and supplier management. In 2021 the business was bought by investors who are pushing the development budget and the marketing budget and will give you all the support and backing that you need to help you create and manage a pipeline of net new business opportunities. You'll have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams including marketing, telesales, product management, and pre-sales.
You will be responsible for growing their revenue base across their software portfolio, through new business sales, qualifying opportunities in terms of chance of success, competition, timescales, and win criteria, proactively hunting new business through potential leads, and generating them into long-term successful new accounts, cross selling, and upselling, showcasing the solutions through demos and webinars, using your knowledge to identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and becoming an expert in the field.
Ideally you will have sold spend management software such as Coupa, Concur, Medius, Proactis, Ariba, Jaggaer, Tipalti, Ivaluer, Precoro or similar. But realistically any solutions sales experience that overlaps into accounting and finance software would be a good fit. For instance, you could be selling solutions like finance, specialist accounting add-ons, ERP, or anything around invoicing, expenses, procurement, AP automation, or forecasting.
You have strong work ethic, a high degree of self-motivation and ambition; you are a great listener, articulate, driven, ambitious and able to influence. Plus, you still get a kick out of closing a deal and having a satisfied customer. Success is achieved here by using a consultative sales approach, working with clients in depth to understand their key business requirements, and coming up with the perfect solution for them.
Why would you come here to sell software?
- They have a rock-solid delivery team of 6, a support team of 6, and a pre-sales team of 3, together with brilliant marketeers, so when you make a sale, the product will get delivered and supported properly
- Their marketing is very strong, with 2 brilliant lead generation guys, good marketing collateral and excellent reference sites
- The product is fully SaaS, so deals are 80% software, 20% services
- They are in the ascendancy - they are on the up, this is the place to work
- The new investors are very focused on marketing and branding, so that will make selling the solution easier
- 5 years from now, everyone is going to wish they had worked here
- They believe that people do their best work when they're given the freedom to thrive and grow
If you have a successful track record of winning new business in a software sales role involving spend management solutions, or any type of finance and accounting related solutions, and you build first class relationships and nurture trust with key decision-makers, and you have passion for the hunt and the close, you can't go wrong here.
