Description

This impressive ERP solutions company has grown organically, and the company is owned and funded by the original co-founders and directors. They are one of the most successful independent ERP providers in their product area, in the UK.

This newly created role is for a Consulting Manager / Professional Services Manager to take the lead in managing their team of 18 Implementation Consultants, who deliver ERP software implementation services to a wide range of clients. You will be working closely alongside the sales team, relationship management and customer success people, project managers, software development teams, and of course, the customers.

To do this job well, you will need to be in the office three days a week, so that you have face to face personal contact with your consultants, on a one-to-one and as a team, so realistically you need to live reasonably close to the Mansfield, Matlock, Nottingham, Derby, Grantham, Melton Mowbray area, and be happy with hybrid working and office days. This is not a role for someone who wants to work remotely full time! They will pay up to £95k, plus private health and dental care and bonus.

There is a huge workload here, and the project managers load up this work on the consultants, so this job is to manage the delivery of great implementation projects, and be the consultants' champion and ear, dealing with their issues, and supporting all the consulting team members, making sure there is plenty of training, personal development, and career opportunities for them and building a team spirit and ethos of camaraderie, inclusion, recognition, and collaboration.

There is a massive opportunity to improve the balance of the company by improving the morale and team spirit within the consulting team.

You will be responsible for the direct management of the consultancy team, delivering top notch consulting and implementation services to the client, liaising with stakeholders, building, and managing the relationships and ensuring your consultants are equipped with everything they need, and are positioned well to deliver high standards on all implementation projects. You will be tracking their performance, efficiency, and progress, looking at issues impacting them, and finding ways to remove any obstacles they face, and remedies to their problems.

You need to set clear expectations and delegate tasks, ensure that the consultants interpret the clients' needs clearly, and champion the use of methodologies and processes to be sure that implementation project milestones are met within the timescales set.

Other responsibilities will be identifying the need for more consultant resource, interviewing, and selecting candidates for roles, encouraging, and supporting your team individuals, building positivity and mentoring and training them.

The company needs someone who has managed and coached a consulting team, as a Professional Services Manager, Consulting Team Leader, Head of Consulting, Implementation Services Manager, or Service Delivery Manager. Your background will have been in the implementation of business application software - ERP would be ideal, but other software solutions such as fleet management, construction solutions, Payroll & HR, MRP, supply chain or inventory or WMS software, dealer management, shipping software, print solutions or similar, would be highly welcomed. Previous experience working for a consultancy, or software reseller, or author is essential.

You are an influencer, you can successfully manage workstreams and people, you can motivate and mentor, drive a team through challenges, show empathy where needed, and a firm hand where it's essential, you can look at performance, plan and prioritise issues, and be proactive and positive.

Scrum Master qualifications, or experience leading scrums would be useful, as would experience or training in structured methodologies.

This is a brilliant job for someone who is keen to mentor and support people, and create and manage a team of loyal, happy, motivated consultants to be proud of. Contact Jake King or Carolyn MacLurg at Ambis Resourcing to find out more.
