ERP Technical Team Leader

We need a switched on, personable ERP Technical Leader to join a busy technical department working for a specialist mid-sized ERP consultancy who operate throughout England and Ireland. The job is to lead their small technical team, and you need hands-on experience of technical ERP delivery, and the ability to motivate, manage and mentor a team of 4 technical consultants, and work alongside 6 talented developers.

You will be managing projects from initial installation of new Epicor ERP systems for warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing-based customers, which will include designing, estimating, quoting, architecting, SQL SSSRS report writing, systems administration of Windows Server, IIS, and RDS, and working with virtualisation products, VMWare/Hyper-V, or Cloud Azure/ AWS. You need solid all round technical skills in an ERP environment and will have previously done billable work in a consultancy or reseller or with a software vendor. Salary to £62k to start, fully remote, ideally between the Midlands and Manchester, with travel to client sites, mainly in those areas as well as to Ireland on occasions.

The role is with an award-winning ERP company who deliver Epicor projects primarily to mid-sized distribution and manufacturing companies. Aside from managing the tech team, you will be responsible for estimating and specifying hardware requirements and application installation, organising, and controlling technical tasks in the project implementation plan, and technical delivery, technical training, and troubleshooting of ERP installations.

You will provide billable client consulting services on client-facing technical projects and need at least 5 years' experience in a similar role as a Lead Technical Consultant or Tools Technical Consultant, with strong ERP experience, MS SQL Server maintenance, SQL querying, SQL analysis, SQL scripting (T-SQL), stored procedures, reporting (SSRS), Technical Toolset, Windows Server, Cloud or Virtualisation platforms, environment mapping and client user training on newly installed hardware or software upgrades.

You are confident leading the delivery of all technical aspects of ERP software implementations and integrations on client sites, and confident, organising, managing, and motivating a small group of technical people. You can customise and do modifications including SSRS reports, follow a structured implementation methodology, specify technical requirements, and train and coach group members.

Your background:

• 5 years+ experience in a lead technical lead role, working with ERP installations
• MS SQL Server maintenance, installs, upgrades, backups and restore
• SQL Analysis and SQL Reporting Services
• SQL Scripting, T-SQL, indexing, structured queries, stored procedures
• System Administration of Windows server and web/server-side applications
• Experience with Virtualisation: VMWare/Hyper-V, or Cloud Azure/ AWS
• Analysis of performance and environment mapping
• End user training, team training, train the trainer
• Proven ability to manage, mentor and motivate a small technical team
• Builds strong relationships with clients and an excellent communicator
