Interesting role for an ERP, WMS or Supply Chain Software Project Manager in the Midlands. This is a successful software consulting firm with a 30-year track record in developing and implementing ERP and Warehouse Management / Supply Chain software solutions in the areas of logistics, warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, supply chain, stock control & inventory and accounting & finance.
They are part of a larger group of software businesses, well-funded and with plenty of opportunities to further your career. Salary to £50k plus car allowance and benefits. They are based on the east side of Birmingham, convenient for the M6 and M42 and you will have the usual travel to client sites, office days and some flexible remote working days.
As a Project Manager here, you will pick up the project after the software sale, and work through the hand over and kick off meetings with the clients. Then you will work with the ERP Software Implementation Consultants through the discovery and scoping stage and you will create a project plan. You will then act as the link between the client and the consulting / technical team, managing the:
- Change
- Creep
- Scope change
- Chivvying the client along
- Corralling the Consultants
- Keeping the client happy and informed
What you won't do here as a Project Manager:

- Implementation
- Go-live
You need to have experience of managing at least 3 projects simultaneously working for a software author, software reseller or consultancy. You will have managed projects of around the £50-200k mark and will have worked with software solutions such as ERP, Warehouse Management, Supply Chain solutions, Manufacturing or Distribution. They are NOT looking for someone who has only worked internally in end user companies - you must be able to show evidence of working with multiple clients in a software house, reseller or vendor environment.
You will be a professional Software Project Manager with an eye for detail, a focus on client service, the ability to deal with change and overcome the hurdles and build relationships to drive projects forward.
