Accounts Assistant move to ERP & Accounting Software Support

This outstanding software company has grown to around 50 people and partners with 3 of the major ERP and Accounting software providers. They are now looking to add another Application Support Consultant (or Accounts Assistant looking to move into Software Support) to their busy team. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge by supporting 3 different ERP and finance software solutions, plus a range of add-on products. Salary to £30k plus private health insurance & other company benefits.

As an Application Support Consultant here, you will support your clients on a range of software modules including finance, sales, fixed assets, purchasing, inventory, e-commerce, CRM and cash collection, on both on premise and cloud based software solutions.

Their continued success as a business is down to the quality of the support they provide to their customers and the continued loyalty their clients demonstrate to them. So the Application Support team is a critical part of their business and it is well managed, well-staffed and a happy, buzzing environment. People stay here for a long time, which is a testament to the working environment they provide, and in fact this new role is available as someone is retiring.

Previously the company has had great success hiring people with a strong accounting background who have been super users of accounting and finance software systems and who want to move into Software Support and enjoy the problem-solving aspects of the role.

So, ideally you will have worked in a large accounts team and been the "Go to" person for queries on the software, and you will be the one that trains the new users and helps set people up with the software systems.

As an alternative, you may already be working in an Application Software Support role, or as a Support Analyst at an end user site, and you have an accounting background or a qualification such as AAT.

Joining the support team here, they will mentor and coach you, plus you use your support experience to learn their ERP and accounting products and to help customers solve their software support issues. This is job where a positive attitude and a smile, are half way to solving each issue. You need to be able to engage with the clients and really listen to them as more often the not, understanding what they are trying to do holds the key to the answer, more than knowing every nuance of the software itself.

You will troubleshoot with clients and look at workarounds for their problems to resolve queries, and investigate reported issues, escalating problems where needed. You will document and log your calls and keep the client informed as to progress with their queries. So, you need to be someone who loves solving problems, and engaging with customers by email or over the phone.

You could have worked on SAP Business One, Sage 200, Sage Line 500, JD Edwards, NetSuite, Infor, Coda, SunSystems, MS Dynamics NAV, Access Dimensions, Pegasus Opera, Epicor or any accounting or ERP finance solution.
