- Description
2nd Line Support Consultant ERP Software and SQL Server, Birmingham
New role for a talented 2nd Line Support Consultant who has experience of ERP Software and SQL Server, is a good all-rounder and has an eye for detail. This job is working for a mid-sized ERP software company of around 30 people on a fully integrated and flexible, complete ERP solution which covers warehousing, accounting, sales, CRM, purchasing, supply chain and dashboards, developed in .Net with a SQL Server back end. Starting salary negotiable to £30k, based in North West Birmingham.
You will join a small 2nd line support team covering the more technical aspects of ERP application support and will work on ERP, SQL Server, and Server Support looking after the more complex cases that have been escalated from 1st Line.
The day to day responsibilities will focus on supporting users of the ERP user interface, and full front and back end ERP and Server support. You will diagnose and resolve the more complicated issues with the ERP software application, plus client problems with the SQL Server database.
You will diagnose bugs and document them for future releases, perform system upgrades to clients' servers and server migrations, amend reports with Visual Studio, write SQL functions, install IIS services, and write documentation where necessary, as well as identify and resolve problems with data issues.
They are looking for someone with a passion for the technical side of ERP software, who is an excellent communicator and can explain technical issues to non-technical people clearly and with empathy. You are calm under pressure - in fact you probably thrive under it, and are a stickler for detail, and a good problem solver and report writer. You look to gain feedback from your customers and share your findings with colleagues.
You will have a good background in ERP support and SQL Server and enjoy the technical side of ERP software and the nuts and bolts. The software can be hosted in the cloud, sold on premise and is also available as a mobile app.
