ERP Software Support Consultant, move into 2nd Line Support

This is an awesome software company, 20 years in industry, 130 staff across worldwide offices and selling and delivering leading edge, fully integrated ERP software solutions for a specialist market. They are looking for an additional Application Support Consultant to move into 2nd Line Support, based at their head office near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire. Salary to £30k plus benefits.

With ambitious growth plans, there is a positive vibe here and people are optimistic about their careers and the future. Their ERP solution is a SQL Server, .Net frame work product. It is highly configurable. They have a team of 4 people working in their UK support division under a support team leader.

This new Application Support role is predominantly 2nd Line, with a bit of 1st Line work; all the customers have their own IT departments so the support calls and enquiries are really 2nd line calls and it is rare to have a quick 5 minute fix.

So the work is interesting and involved and can get quite complex and you will own your calls and work through the issues yourself, however you need to be able to recognise how, when and to whom an issue should be escalated if you can't solve the problem.

They are looking for a bright, enthusiastic candidate with Application Support experience of ERP software or something very similar with an accounting element to it, such as construction software, property software, dealer management software, WMS software, manufacturing software, builders' merchants' software, distribution software etc.

The product is written in C# and .Net with SQL Server so you will be exposed to that technology and a keen interest in .Net technology would be good for this role. They will fund external training courses for you to learn development and coding.

Their ERP solution has many features and covers warehousing, distribution, ecommerce, wholesale, real-time stock, trade counter, retail, supply chain, business intelligence, accounting & finance and CRM and sales, so there will be a lot for you to get your teeth into. They have around 200 clients and the get 15-20 support calls per day.

They are looking for someone with initiative who is calm under pressure, has a positive attitude to work, and believes in giving the customer the best service they can.
