Description

This role is for a savvy Implementation Consultant or Professional Services Consultant with a background in ERP software, accounting software, construction software or property software. Ideally you will live in the Midlands area, but it is home based, anywhere from Milton Keynes to Leeds, and from Bristol to Manchester, so Birmingham is a marker point.

Money, based on experience is £35-40K but they could stretch to £45,000 plus car allowance.

Location: home based with typically 3 days each week working on client site, plus one remote chargeable day from home and one admin day from home.

Our client is one of the UK's leading providers of construction industry specific accounting software and part of a larger highly successful software group. A Professional Services Consultant is required to expand their existing Implementation team and will be required to deliver consultancy days to a high standard.

The role will include project management of your own projects and providing services to customers including scheduling of initial service days and ongoing remote and on-site training, tracking of progress, and involvement in issue resolution as needed. You will be required to educate customers on the importance of their involvement and commitment in the implementation process including recommendations concerning setups, processing, and data flow within the customer's existing operations. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to identify potential issues or shortfalls in customer's knowledge during the early stages of the project, whilst being able to manage the customer's expectations.

The key objective is to maintain the high standards of delivery and to ensure successful project Go-Live. This will ensure tasks are completed as required and any issues arising are dealt with in a professional manner. Reporting directly to Professional Services Manager, the role will be based throughout the UK and Ireland travelling to client sites with some home working. During home working you there will be times where assisting the rest of the implementation team will be required on their projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Own diary organisation and planning
  • Manage the operational aspects of ERP & accounting software implementation projects
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current and appropriately stored
  • Willing to travel throughout the UK with overnight stays.
  • Able to draw up requirements specifications and translate them into a practical solution.
  • Managing customers' expectations

Key Skills:

  • A background in ERP, accounting or construction software implementation, dealing with customers and taking clients through the whole Implementation life cycle, is essential.
  • A general understanding of construction accounting or the construction process in the UK would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of managing projects, (probably your own)
  • Experience in providing professional services within the accounting software industry
  • Professional accounting qualification (desirable but not essential)

  • Confident with the ability to work to own initiative
  • Well organised with the ability to guide customers with a firm and assured manner
  • Ability to identify issues and provide solutions at the earliest opportunity
  • The ability to learn new software systems quickly
  • Be able to interpret and understand client's needs/requirements
  • Driving Licence essential
  • Commercial acumen
  • Ability to be able to deal with all skill levels of users and stakeholders

Experience of client facing consulting and software implementation with accounting solutions like Sage 50, Sage 200, Xero, BrightPearl, Dynamics NAV, Access Accounts, Exchequer, QuickBooks or similar would be an advantage, and any experience of construction specific products would be incredibly useful - such as Eque2 (Sage Construct), COINS, Causeway, EasyBuild, Xpedeon, Evolution, Esti-mate, Primavera, BuilderStorm, WorkflowMax, or similar.
