- Description
Superb role for an Implementation Consultant with a leading global ERP software company (5000 + employees), working on the Projects Module / Project Management Module of a large scale ERP solution. You need strong skills in the implementation of a projects / project management module within an ERP solution, and you will be used to working with large clients with a heavy project management workload. These might be clients in engineering, construction, infrastructure, research & development, or just a large £multi-million company with lots of projects that need to be managed internally.
A good understanding of a projects module and project accounting, and a strong track record of helping companies get the most out of project management software, is essential. Salary to £55k + £5k bonus + £7k car allowance, home based anywhere in the UK. Please note this is NOT a Project Manager role.
The company is a global leader in large scale ERP, Field Service Management, Asset Management and CRM Software. This is a first-class opportunity to work for a world class software author in the ERP space, who are financially solid, continuing to expand and who offer great career prospects and stability.
Full life cycle functional consulting experience is required, from requirements gathering, workshops, specification, design & configuration, testing, documentation, installation, training and post go-live support. Experience in the project management or projects module of a large scale ERP solution is essential, whether this is within a reseller, vendor or software house environment, or at a large scale end user company.
You will also be expected to work with the Consulting Managers, to help develop good implementation processes and enhanced training materials, and put forward your ideas. Plus, make suggestions to the Product Managers for enhancements to the module.
The projects module of their ERP software helps clients who use project principles to run their business, manage their complete project lifecycles. It covers things like project risk assessment, resource planning, project scheduling, forecasting, estimate to complete, project costing & budgeting (time, expenses, materials), simulation, Gantt charts and more. It integrates with procurement, asset management, stock and order management, finance & accounting, and HR & payroll.
You will be home based and can live anywhere from Northumberland to Cardiff, to London to Bristol, to Southampton - Birmingham is just a central marker point.
Reporting to the Consulting Manager, you will be working on the implementation of the project management module of their ERP software, but will also learn at least one other module. The projects are large enough to require more than one consultant at a time, so there is lots of collaboration and cooperation. Typically you will work on client sites 3 or 4 days a week, alongside other consultants, and operate from home on Fridays. The training programme is excellent and you will be eased into their consulting style, working with a mentor and shadowing another Implementation Consultant.
This is a professional environment, so you will get lots of good training. In the past new Consultants who have cross trained from another solution, typically work alongside other people for 6 months, before running their own implementation projects, so you are not thrown in at the deep end.
Staff retention here is amazing - many of them have been with the company for over 10 years and 65% of all staff have been with them for at least 5 years, which is testament to their working environment, rewards, recognition, career development and training. The management are decent, knowledgeable and approachable people, the company is very well organised and they are busy!
Please note again that this is not a job for a Project Manager, it is an Implementation Consultant / Professional Services Consultant job on a Projects module. Contact Jake King or Carolyn MacLurg at Ambis Resourcing for further information.
