Description

This company has been hugely successful selling a specialist ERP solution into the SME space; the product suits clients up to 200 users, especially wholesalers and distributors. It has a full SQL Server and .Net back end having grown the market and the software, it is now very comfortable with up to 400 users. So an average deal is 30 users and 30 days of consultancy work.

As a hands on Functional ERP Implementation Consultant you will be working with the clients across all departments: these include finance & accounts, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, sales and CRM.

You will understand the requirements and the business processes through workshops and business analysis meetings. You will talk to the client about the implementation of the ERP solution and what processes are easy to fit and what needs to change - either through development of the software or through a change in the business process. So you will be having detailed business discussions about how they operate and the best way to get the solution working and delivering benefit to them. You will have those conversations that push the client to question "why do we do it that way"?

So you will need to be able to work with SQL, doing some SQL scripting and queries. You will have a solid background of ERP functional implementation working on accounting and stock and warehousing modules. You like meeting clients and are happy to stay away when needed on client site. Any experience of ERP solutions such as OGL ProfitPlus, Merlin, Kerridge Babbage or K8, Border Merchant Systems, Intact IQ, SharpAx, Counteract or similar would be very advantageous.

Why is this a great job?

  • Lovely product, everyone who works on this ERP solution thinks it is great
  • Up to date SQL Server and .Net technology
  • Great management and a great boss
  • Lots of autonomy to do the projects how you want to
  • Work as a Consultant within a buoyant, busy, intelligent team

You will need to be familiar with POP, SOP, SQL, Browser, e-commerce, report writing, workflows and dashboards. Although the job is as a UK wide ERP Consultant, ideally you need to be based in the central belt of the UK near a major motorway, from Portsmouth to Bristol and from London to the Midlands and Manchester and Leeds. Derby is just a central marker point, the role is home based.

They have offices in the North, the South and the Midlands, so you will never be far from one of the three when you need to go into the office.

So as an ERP Consultant you will mainly work on projects near your office. Sometimes you will need to work further away. You can expect to be on client site 2-3 days per week.

The 3 directors are really good guys and the consulting director is just awesome to work with, a really good guy. The best thing is that you will get to see projects from the start to the finish and have a chance to get some ownership of software implementations as they happen and develop relationships with the clients.

This is a company where they do good project work and clients stay with them for a long time.

They will pay £35,000 to £45,000 + car allowance. The more current and relevant your experience is, the quicker you can be onsite doing chargeable project work, and the more gaps in your skills, the longer that will take.

If you would like to know more about this role contact Jake or Carolyn at Ambis. It's a great place to work.
