Description

Implementation Consultant with experience of the accounting & finance modules of Construction software - this is a flexible home working role with travel to client sites where required, you can be based anywhere in the UK. A broad salary range is on offer depending on your experience level - from £35 - 50k and up to £60k if you have COINS construction software expertise. Plus there is a £6k car allowance, and private health insurance.

The job is for an Implementation Consultant or Professional Services Consultant to join a leading global software company with a 30 year track record of delivering on premise and cloud based ERP solutions for the construction and engineering industries. Their systems are fully integrated and very flexible, and include financial accounting, plant & machinery, contractor payments, management reporting, marketing, estimating, facilities management, HR & payroll, project costing & accounting, procurement and asset management.

They are looking for a talented Applications Software Consultant, Finance Consultant or Implementation Consultant, who has a background in the accounting and finance areas of construction, estimating or FM software solutions. Strong finance and accounting skills with the ability to talk about charts of accounts, revenue recognition, P&L and project accounting is essential.

Construction experience is also essential, as the construction industry has some strange accounting principles and clients expect the Implementation Consultants to be fully knowledgeable regarding those quirks.

So you will have previously implemented the accounting modules of construction, estimating or facilities management software such Xpedeon, MS NAV Constructa, Procore, Eque2, Summit, BuildSmart, 4PS Construct, COINS, Evolution, Pegasus CIS, inspHire, Sage Construct, Causeway, Build-IT, Autodesk, Esti-mate, CIA, SiteStream, Valesco, FM Server or similar.

The Software Consultants are all home based and need to be on client site for the workshops and the beginning of the testing, everything else can be done remotely. The current thinking is that you will need to spend 1 day a week in the office for the first 3 months to build relationships and learn the product thoroughly, then I day in the office every month for a few months, then fully home based with some visits to clients sites. Coventry is just a central marker point, you can be based anywhere (UK only).

Typically your role will cover the full life cycle from looking at the business processes of your client, gathering requirements, workshops, software configuration, testing and implementation, training and post implementation hand holding. Generally projects are 80% set and 20% configurable, based on a whole set of parameters that need to be fitted to the client. Initially you will work alongside a Senior Consultant to learn the ropes and the software. Projects range from 25 to 100 users.

So you will be providing implementation consultation services during new software installations, upgrades and customisations, identifying and addressing gaps between the solution and the business practices of your clients, working with flow charts for gap analysis, and translating design documents and functional specification documents into system configuration deliverables.

This is a phenomenally successful company with a hands-on MD, which has expanded globally, but has managed to retain a great atmosphere and a family environment with very low staff turnover. There is a lot of variety and clients range from small construction companies, to global giants.
