Description

Application Support Consultant required, for a busy, thriving software company located between Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield, to join their application support team of 9. They are suppliers of a cutting edge ERP solution for manufacturing & distribution companies with full integration to retail and e-commerce, enabling them to provide complete solutions for any combination of manufacturer, distributor, retailer or web sales operation. Salary to £33k plus benefits. Some flexible home working days.

Your background needs to have focused on application support of any business software solution, so it could be ERP, dealer management (DMS), field service solutions, accounting software, CRM or property management solutions, or HR & payroll, MRP, WMS, finance or invoicing solutions, construction software, legal accounts software or anything similar.

They are happy to look at all levels of people - you could be a junior 1st Line Support Consultant looking for a chance to learn and grow. Or you could be a very experienced Support Analyst, used to fielding complex calls and looking to work for a company where the support team are highly valued and respected. They are very open minded as to how much experience you have if you are keen to learn and you put the client first.

Your most important personal skills would be a real desire to help customers and improve their knowledge of the software, you are a good team player, you have a sense of humour, a genuine interest in business and what your customers do and what processes they have, and you are keen to learn and improve your skillset.

Client support queries come in by phone and via the online portal which you also use to log and track your support cases. The enquiries are mostly focused on the ERP solution but you will also get involved in issues like SQL Server databases, webservers etc., so there is a nice opportunity here to learn about SQL views, stored procedures and SQL queries. Thy have a full time technical support team who handle the complex stuff; if you already have some SQL skills, so much the better.

You will be joining the team of 9 application support consultants working with an additional 3 people in the technical services team; these people provide fantastic customer support to the client base of over 300 clients. The clients' users work across all areas of business including warehousing, distribution, accounts, sales, manufacturing, and ecommerce. So you will be doing something different every day.

You will learn their ERP solution in-depth including finance, manufacturing, distribution, and e-commerce and so on and will work with an upbeat, fun team of people. The support manager is great to work for, always fair, and not too bossy. People in the team get promoted rapidly, so the prospects are excellent.
