Newly created role to manage a £10 million turnover software consultancy business unit, which supplies ERP software implementation, support & project management services. The job is to manage all the processes around the delivery so that the 2 managers involved, (the Professional Services Manager and the Software Projects Manager), can get on with successfully delivering multiple client ERP implementation projects.To £60k + 15% bonus and large company benefits.
Your background:-you have strong ERP consulting experience working for ERP software resellers, consultancies, or ERP software authors and a broad understanding of ERP solutions and all the cycles required to ensure successful implementations. You have managed ERP projects and have had previous man management and line management responsibility for teams of ERP Implementation Consultants. You have:
- A high-level blend and appreciation of both the commercial and technical aspects of ERP
- Managed ERP or similar business software products in a reseller business
- Experience working closely with the commercial teams (sales / marketing / board level)
- Worked closely with service delivery teams (consultancy / support / software development / project management teams)
- Solid organisational skills, great people management, vision and creativity, and the ability to juggle many balls at once
You will liaise with a wide variety of people and departments to predict the log jams and project & implementation issues. As the ERP General Manager / ERP Business Manager, you will talk to the sales and marketing teams to ensure they are able to do their jobs and have the necessary resources, work with the Head of Project Management to make sure he has the resources for the upcoming workload, and work with the Professional Services Manager to ensure that the ERP Implementation Consultants are suitably skilled, organised, scheduled and ready to do the software implementation work.
At the top end of the business, you will work with the MD, the CTO and the Operations Director to make sure they are aware of all upcoming issues and the budget requirements. You will also get involved with the HR and internal recruitment divisions to help them hire the right people that are needed, at the right time.

- There is a huge amount of responsibility in managing a £10m ERP business unit. But you won't have the day to day headache of projects or people.
- You will have the "Big Picture" overview of the direction of the group. So you will be heavily involved in planning and forecasting, and looking beyond the next month and the current workload at next year and the following year.
- The responsibility is to ensure the products and services that make up the ERP line of business are commercially viable, taken to market and maintained effectively and efficiently. The headline products in this unit are 2 mid-market ERP solutions.
- Reporting to the Products Director and working in close cooperation with other board members and department heads, you will be responsible for the effective go to market of the ERP products with time to market, customer experience, quality of service delivery and economic performance at the heart of the success criteria.
- The job is mainly office based (between Bournemouth and Poole) but with flexible home working days and occasional travel is envisaged to customer and / or supplier sites. It may require out of hours working both on a pre-arranged and ad-hoc basis.
