- Description
This thriving solutions company needs an enthusiastic, energetic Software Trainer or IT Trainer who gets on well with people at all levels and is happy to travel where necessary. The job is working for a busy software company of around 75 people, who have successfully led the way in a niche market for over 25 years and have a great ERP solution that covers purchasing, sales order processing, finance, warehouse management, EDI, e-commerce, stock control, CRM & sales. It's sold on premise and in the cloud and is recognised as one of the leading solutions in its field.
On offer is a salary to £33k plus overtime, discounts on a range of products, and if you have to travel, you get a fully expensed rental car. They are also flexible about working hours, and some days working from home.
They are looking for someone local, ideally within 60 minutes' drive of Chesterfield / Mansfield, who is happy running training courses remotely via WebEx, in their head office between Mansfield and Chesterfield, and sometimes out on client sites. These sessions could be small or large groups, classroom based or one to one sessions.
As an ERP Software Training Consultant you will be helping customers from the go-live stage of the implementation process. This could involve you working with client employees from the accounts team, to sales people, till staff, and warehousing people and the MD and FD. The system will already have been configured so you will be showing them all the elements they need to do their job. Every set up is different as every client wants the ERP software configured specifically for them.
You will be responsible for updating existing course material to keep in line with new releases of the software, as well as developing new training courses, and will write and update user manuals, document your client sessions, and keep appropriate records. The role is nice as it is varied, and there could be an element of project management from time to time, and some client support. You will probably take one day a week writing up your notes from your training sessions and informing the implementation consultants of any changes that are required or problems that have been encountered.
Initially you will spend time learning about their niche ERP software and getting to know the implementation team. They are looking for someone who has previously delivered quality software training - that could be anything from ERP to CRM software, field service solutions, legal, workforce management, property, DMS, HR & payroll, pensions, ITSM, or estate agents' software, to regular IT software such as MS Office or Windows etc.
You will be someone who recognises the need to get the clients and users to learn and absorb as much about the software as possible, who has a warm approach, is patient, a good listener, approachable and confident, and can explain technical stuff in layman's terms. You will have experience of delivering software training courses and writing up course materials, as well as professional communication. You are a great organiser and you find it easy to learn new software.
This job will suit someone who loves training people, knows how important it is that the customer learns how to use the software really well and who takes pride in teaching them the nuts and bolts. It is vital you have a warm personality, and that you enjoy dealing with people and getting to know them. You are cheerful, positive and happy by nature, with lots of energy and enthusiasm.
