- Description
Seeking an ERP Project Manager with consulting and client facing experience, to join a global ERP company with a UK division of around 26 people. This is a permanent job, either home based (anywhere in the UK, or office based, or a mix of both) - it is up to you. They are looking for someone who is well organised, personable, and action-focused with the ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and thrive under pressure. To £60k plus benefits.
You will be responsible for the management of projects for the full implementation lifecycle from kick-off, producing project plans, organising the project teams and consultants, liaising with stakeholders, monitoring project performance and controlling risk. This is to project manage ERP software projects of 20 days to 100 days. You will work with a team of ERP Implementation Consultants who do the delivery, as well as working with the clients and the Senior Project Manager. You would probably start on some smaller projects and as you get to know the software and the company, you will pick up bigger and bigger projects. The largest projects are 300 or 400 days, so there is plenty of scope to develop your career.
They need an experienced Project Manager who has managed multiple concurrent projects for a software company / software vendor / reseller delivering ERP solutions or application software similar to ERP. So this could be Construction software, Property Management software, Business Intelligence, Field Service Management, ERP, MRP, CRM, Legal software, Payroll & HR software, Document Management solutions, Billing, Credit software or anything similar.
Whatever the software solution, you need to understand the process of a software implementation life cycle: design it, build it, test it, and implement it. And you understand the issues with getting the right Implementation Consultant, on the right day, to do the client tasks.
You will be responsible for coordinating the ERP Consultants & internal resources to ensure that projects are implemented within scope and on time and to budget. You will liaise & report weekly with your clients on timescales & costs, develop project plans to track progress, manage project scope, creep and schedules, manage the stakeholders, measure project performance, and look at risk management to minimise risk.
Their current team is made up of 9 ERP Implementation Consultants and two Project Managers. Travel to client sites will be required to do the kick off meetings so you should expect 3-5 days travelling each month.
You can keep stakeholders (customers and internal) engaged and address pain points head on, whilst building strong working relationships. You can provide vision when leading project teams, promote teamwork and celebrate successes to motivate people and facilitate project delivery on schedule. You are someone who enjoys interacting with SME clients and helping them to understand and overcome challenges by implementing world-class software and you believe that careful project planning and good system preparation, prior to go live, makes all the difference to the result.
